The official app of the city of Bielefeld offers extensive functionalities and enables the convenient use of various web applications. It is optimized for iPhones and smartphones with the Android operating system.
Users are offered quick access to five key areas of the municipal homepage: news, press releases, parking spaces, citizen service and the online waste calendar. In addition, there are the separate features of the “Frequently asked” sections, which take into account the ranking of search queries on bielefeld.de, and a defect reporter, which enables mobile damage and fault reports with photo uploads and GPS location data.
The core of the app is the citizen service area. The basic idea was to optimize the service quality in relation to the demand behavior of citizens for mobile online use. Consequently, the services most in demand by the municipality in this area have been bundled and expanded with information on fees, forms, responsibilities, contact persons and opening times. The list is based on the extensive D115 task catalog and takes into account the top 100 topics from waste disposal to second home tax.
The Bielefeld citizen service app was implemented by the city's press office together with the long-standing hosting provider Medialine AG.
